About
the book

When the person you once loved disappears into the Arctic wilderness, some bonds prove impossible to leave behind.

Back to You is a romantic suspense novel set against the dangerous winter landscape of Alaska’s Brooks Range. In mid-January, a medevac helicopter piloted by Colton Jamison disappears during a violent Arctic storm. On board is experienced flight nurse Piper Hanson. When the helicopter crashes in the frozen wilderness, worsening weather brings official rescue efforts almost to a standstill.

Hundreds of miles away, Piper’s estranged husband, Lee Hanson, receives news of the crash. Lee is himself a Search and Rescue commander, but he has been suspended from duty. Unable to remain on the sidelines while Piper’s life is at risk, he defies orders and heads into the wilderness with an elderly Inuit guide who knows the unforgiving terrain.

At the crash site, circumstances are becoming increasingly desperate. Colton is seriously injured, supplies are dwindling, temperatures are unforgiving, and Piper faces an impossible decision: remain with the injured pilot and hope help reaches them in time, or venture into a landscape where one wrong choice could prove fatal.

As Lee races against weather, distance, and time to reach her, the rescue mission forces both husband and wife to confront more than physical danger. Their estrangement, regret, and unresolved feelings become intertwined with a fight for survival, raising the possibility that an ordeal neither expected could bring them back toward something they believed had already been lost.

Why Read
Back to You?

A vanished helicopter. An unforgiving Arctic storm. An estranged husband willing to risk everything for one more chance.

Back to You combines the emotional stakes of a second-chance romance with the tension of a wilderness survival story. Readers who enjoy romantic suspense will find multiple layers of conflict: a helicopter crash, a worsening storm, an injured survivor, an unauthorized rescue mission, and a relationship carrying its own unresolved history.

At its center is the relationship between Piper and Lee. Their separation gives the rescue mission emotional weight beyond physical survival. The story explores how regret, loyalty, sacrifice, courage, and enduring attachment can resurface when people are pushed to their limits.

The Alaska setting also gives the novel a distinctive atmosphere. The Brooks Range is not simply background scenery; isolation, extreme cold, limited supplies, and difficult terrain directly shape the characters’ choices and intensify the suspense.
